The Society of Christian Ethics

The SCE decided to simultaneously upgrade their website and move their Access membership database online.  Drupal serves as the foundation for the member interface, while CiviCRM is used to manage member information, event registration, online membership payments and member contacts.  The member-side of the site relies heavily on creative implementation of views and panels.  The many interest and working groups of the Society each have their own group area (using Organic Groups) allowing for online discussion of upcoming meetings, and member projects.  Using Messaging and Notifications, group members can communicate with one another both online and via email.

Using Views CiviCRM profiles, members are able to update their own member profiles, portions of which are now public, facilitating interaction both within the growing society, and with academics in other disciplines.  Site access is controlled by CiviCRM memberships and drupal roles sync in order to maintain the privacy of members as well as allow for private group discussions and collaboration on sensitive topics.

Features:

  • CiviCRM
  • Heavy integration of Panels and Views to implement access-based site content.
  • Organic Groups to mimic 'listservs', group-based wikis and forums.
