United Way of the Columbia-Willamette

The United Way of the Columbia-Willamette needed to implement a new design using existing content while allowing for dynamic social networking elements and new marketing strategies, and they wer en't quite ready to jump into a full-fledged CMS.  Working with marketing staff, I took their design template and built a standards-compliant website with Dreamweaver templates for foundational page creation, CSS for easily modifying style elements, and PHP includes to allow for quick site-wide content modifications.  In addition, the site offered me the opportunity to experiment with new plugins using javascript, jQuery, Google APIs in order to integrate with social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.  We also worked with and implement the recommendations of generous UW supporters who volunteered their business services to provide SEO analysis.  Finally, the site is fully documented in a wiki so that permanent employees can update the website without needing to hire a full-developer, all part of United Way's strategy to reduce their own overhead in order to better serve the needs of their local community.
